► What Causes Low Testosterone?
There are essentially two reasons why a man may have low testosterone levels: andropause and hypogonadism. Andropause is also referred to as male menopause and is a natural aging process where the testosterone hormone starts to decline in the 30’s and plateaus around the late 60’s. Hypogonadism is a disease when testosterone is not being produced due to abnormality of the testes or brain, stress or a pre-existing health condition. A blood test is the only method by which a doctor can confirm your testosterone levels before making a diagnosis.
